Still no timeline for interstate poker in Michigan
Despite joining the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) in April, online poker in Michigan is still limited to within state borders.
Nevertheless, WSOP MI was mandated by the Michigan Gaming Control Board to obtain additional approvals in order to run multi-state platforms. As a result, WSOP MI had to modify its software to facilitate interstate play.
Playinmichigan observed that New Jersey took around six months to enable interstate play after joining the MSIGA. Currently, Michigan is in a similar timeframe, so it is anticipated that we might receive some updates by the end of this year.
By the time the 2025 WSOP commences, it is our ultimate aspiration to witness the introduction of interstate poker. If this becomes a reality, individuals from Michigan, Nevada, and New Jersey can participate in the main series and compete for bracelets. Additionally, the player pools on BetMGM Poker and PokerStars MI will merge, providing even more opportunities for players.
