Extreme Ca$h instant game offers big winnings
The individual, aged 59, preferred to keep his identity undisclosed. He acquired an Extreme Ca$h instant ticket for $30 from the Marathon gas station situated at 8350 Telegraph Road in Taylor.
Upon realizing that his prize was indeed authentic, he made his way to the Lottery headquarters to officially lay claim to it. Opting for the one-time lump sum, he decided to receive approximately $2.7 million instead of the full amount spread over 30 payments.
In a statement, he mentioned that he made a quick stop at the gas station to redeem a few winning tickets. While in the car, he decided to try his luck with two new Extreme Ca$h tickets. As he began scratching the tickets, he was overwhelmed with shock when he discovered that he had won a staggering $4 million. This incredible news left him trembling with disbelief, causing him to sit in his car and stare at the ticket in awe for approximately 15 minutes. Without wasting any time, he immediately drove to his wife’s workplace to surprise her with the amazing news. When she inspected the ticket, she too was astounded and insisted on verifying its authenticity by taking it to a retailer.
He expressed his intention to utilize the prize money for a family vacation in a warm destination and subsequently save the remaining amount.
In March, the $30 Extreme Ca$h tickets were introduced, presenting a chance to win prizes ranging from $50 to $4 million. The Lottery discloses that there are still over $156 million worth of prizes available on these tickets, including two $4 million prizes, 21 prizes of $10,000, and over 1,000 prizes of $2,000. As of now, a total of over $9 million has already been claimed in winnings.
In the state, there are 10,500 retailers where lottery instant games can be bought. Instant games yielded over $1.8 billion in winnings during the year 2021.
Michigan Lottery winners piling up
This month, the Michigan Lottery has announced four major instant win prizes, including the recent announcement of a $4 million win.
Only a few days after the news broke that a woman from Branch County had won $500,000 on a different instant game, this latest event occurred.
She bought a $10 Wild Time Supreme ticket at PS Food Mart on 75 Chicago St. in Coldwater.
A Wayne County man emerged victorious in the $5 Blizzard Bucks instant game, winning a remarkable $500,000. The lucky ticket was purchased at the Mobil gas station situated at 19901 Masonic Blvd. in Roseville, as revealed a week ago.
A woman from Oakland County claimed a whopping $300,000 prize after buying a $5 Bonus Ball Bingo ticket at the Super Happy Dollar Market. The market is conveniently situated at 1368 Baldwin Ave. in Pontiac.
Michigan Lottery helping fund education in Michigan
In accordance with state regulations, the entirety of the Lottery’s earnings is allocated to Michigan’s School Aid Fund. During the fiscal year 2021, an unprecedented sum of $1.419 billion was donated to the Fund.
Since 1972, the Michigan Lottery has generated over $26 billion for public education. Within the last seven years alone, it has contributed $7.2 billion, which accounts for more than a quarter of the total amount raised.
