A record-breaking winner has emerged from the biggest instant game ever launched in the history of Michigan Lottery.
In Michigan, a man from Cheboygan County has just won a staggering $6 million by playing the Michigan Lottery’s latest instant game called $300,000,000 Diamond Riches. This incredible jackpot stands as the largest prize ever awarded in Michigan.
“It feels incredibly surreal to be seated here, gathering a whopping $6 million,” expressed the player, who opted to maintain their anonymity, as stated in a press release. “I haven’t ceased trembling ever since I revealed the winning numbers on my ticket.”
Michigan man wins $6 million scratch off prize
The fortunate ticket that brought victory was bought at Vanderbilt Downtown EZ Mart, situated at 8114 Mill Street in the town of Vanderbilt, located in northern Michigan. Instead of receiving 30 annuity payments for the complete sum, the winner opted for a single lump sum payment of around $4.1 million as their chosen method of accepting the winnings.
According to the release, his plan involves playing to fund a trip to Disneyland and then saving the rest.
He recounted, “I was informed about the recently launched $50 ticket and immediately informed my friend that I intended to purchase one as soon as I received my paycheck. Although I had doubts about winning the grand prize, I was still eager to give it a shot. On our way to work, we made a quick stop at the store where I purchased the ticket. Once seated in my car, I couldn’t resist scratching it right away. As soon as I discovered that I had won the astonishing $6 million prize, I was overwhelmed with emotion and began trembling. Excitedly, I shared the news with my friend and we both experienced a state of disbelief and exhilaration!”
Diamond Riches already paying out millions
In the game, there were three tickets available to win $6 million each. Players of $300 Million Diamond Riches, released in early July, have already won over $14 million in prizes.
The prizes available vary between $50 and the top prize of $6 million. Tickets can be purchased for $50 each at various lottery retailers located throughout the state.
There are still over $317 million in prizes waiting to be claimed, which includes the two highest prizes as well as more than 90 winners who have won $50,000 each.
Losing tickets can also be entered into a second-chance drawing that offers a prize of up to $100,000. To participate, players can scan their non-winning ticket using the Michigan Lottery mobile app before November 13, 2022.
There will be a total of ten second-chance drawings, with each drawing offering prizes to lucky participants. The prizes include one winner awarded $100,000, five winners receiving $10,000 each, twenty winners getting $1,000 each, and sixty winners receiving $500 each.
