On July 4, 1984, the Bay Mills Indian Community proudly inaugurated the Bay Mills Blackjack Casino, marking a significant milestone as the initial gaming establishment in the United States owned by a Native American tribe to offer a variety of games such as slots and blackjack, in addition to the traditional bingo.
