Once more, Michigan was tantalized by the prospect of surpassing the impressive milestone of generating over nine-figures worth of monthly internet gaming revenue.

Numbers released by the Michigan Gaming Control Board on Friday indicate that MI online casinos generated $94.9 million in revenue in April. This revenue contributed $17.8 million in taxes to the state, $5.2 million in revenue to Detroit, and $1.8 million in revenue to tribal operators.

The Michigan internet gaming market has quickly joined the top tier of online casino states, alongside New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This market also includes a small portion of online poker revenue.

In April, BetMGM Casino continued to dominate the industry, generating an impressive revenue of $36.8 million and capturing a market-leading share of 38.8%.

Michigan operators have generated a total revenue of $299.0 million within the initial 99 days of internet gaming. This amount equates to $53.4 million in state taxes and $15.7 million in taxes and fees for the city of Detroit. Additionally, tribal operators have earned $5.4 million.
