FireKeepers Casino Hotel is eschewing the traditional red carpet and opting for a tightrope instead, as they prepare to welcome a distinguished guest for the grand opening of their second hotel tower in Battle Creek. The renowned daredevil Nik Wallenda, hailing from the esteemed Great Wallendas family, will showcase his skills by walking across the tightrope, connecting the initial eight-story tower to the recently constructed one, during the christening on August 16th.

Attendees are encouraged to join the event, commencing with a ceremony at 5 p.m. Expect Wallenda to embark on his walk around 5:45 p.m. Additionally, there is a remote viewing option available for those unable to attend in person.
The walk is set to span over 400 feet and will be situated approximately 200 feet above the ground.
Wallenda, hailed as the “Highwire Monarch,” boasts 11 Guinness World Records under his belt. He achieved the groundbreaking feat of being the pioneer to traverse the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, and Times Square. Additionally, he fearlessly walked between two towers in Chicago while blindfolded.
Wallenda recently showcased his daring feat on ABC, as he fearlessly walked across a live volcano in Nicaragua.

The new tower includes a total of 203 rooms and introduces a high-limit gaming area. Additionally, the property’s renowned Nibi restaurant will find a new home within the tower, accommodating approximately 125 guests.
Opened in 2009, the hotel is operated by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi tribe.
