Big series doesn’t reach heights of first MICOOP, MISCOOP

Ultimately, a staggering total of 18,636 participants took part in the 68 MICOOP tournaments, generating a remarkable sum of $1,787,502.10 in prize pools.

Almost every tournament surpassed their guaranteed prize pools, with only nine events experiencing overlays, and these were mostly small ones occurring in the final week of the series.

Player “WadeDavenport” emerged victorious in the Main Event, a tournament that required a $300 buy-in and boasted a $150,000 guarantee. With a remarkable turnout of 632 entries, the event amassed a prize pool totaling $176,960. As a result of their outstanding performance, “WadeDavenport” claimed the first-place prize, amounting to slightly over $31,000.

In addition to that main event victory, “WadeDavenport” was also honored with a special championship trophy. In total, a grand total of seven trophies were presented to the winners of specific trophy events.

Earlier this year, the inaugural MICOOP attracted an impressive total of nearly 32,000 entries across its 60 events. Initially offering a modest $1 million in total guarantees, PokerStars MI had to quickly respond to the overwhelming response by increasing guarantees for almost half of the events. This strategic move resulted in the overall series total guarantees surging to an impressive amount of almost $1.43 million.

In the initial MICOOP, a sum exceeding $2.2 million was triumphantly claimed. However, the Michigan Spring Championship of Online Poker outshined this achievement in May, distributing a slightly higher amount of just over $2.35 million, albeit in a grander 120-event series.

Pennsylvania wins three-state battle among COOPs at PokerStars US sites

During the period of September 10-27, while hosting its World Championship of Online Poker exclusively for non-American players on its global platform, PokerStars also organized simultaneous “COOP” series on its three US sites in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. It is important to note that these US sites operate within state boundaries, allowing players to compete solely against others from their respective states.

The PACOOP at PokerStars PA in Pennsylvania emerged as the largest series among the three. With a whopping 69 events, the series gave away a staggering prize pool of almost $2.38 million, managing to attract an impressive number of over 25,500 participants in total.

However, PokerStars MI surpassed the total achieved by Michigan, surpassing both PokerStars NJ and the NJCOOP. The series in New Jersey consisted of 60 events, ultimately distributing slightly over $1.1 million in prizes and drawing approximately 10,500 participants.

During the final week of events, the MICOOP surpassed the BetMGM Online Series in terms of traffic and prize pools. With a total of 10 tournaments, the BetMGM Online Series awarded approximately $357,000. In contrast, the MICOOP awarded over $1 million during the same period.

Take a glance at the second edition of MICOOP, which features a total of 68 events. Delve into the fields and prize pools for each of these thrilling competitions.
