BetMGM Poker Michigan is generously treating three Michigan-based poker players to a trip to Las Vegas, serving as a special Father’s Day present.

The site held an exclusive Ultimate Super Satellite event on Sunday, where players could enter with a $1,060 buy-in. This tournament promised to award two $25,000 packages, which covered the buy-ins for prominent live poker tournaments held in Las Vegas. However, due to the significant number of participants, an additional third $25K package was added to the prize pool.

Las Vegas poker trips to include WSOP Main Event in November

The event was a huge hit, attracting a total of 89 participants. After an intense 5.5-hour poker session, the winners “farmhand,” “Mentalist,” and “LouisD60” emerged victorious and secured the coveted packages. As a consolation prize, “Kickback23,” who came in fourth place, received a generous cash reward of $14,000.

The money will be used by the winners to participate in events in Las Vegas starting from this week and extending until July, as well as in November. A specific schedule has been devised for utilizing the earmarked $25,000 as follows:

  • The Las Vegas $10K buy-in event is scheduled from June 25 to July 2.
  • The Las Vegas $5K buy-in event will take place from July 2nd to July 7th.
  • From November 4th to November 17th, there will be a $10K buy-in event taking place in Las Vegas.

As Las Vegas experiences rising temperatures, the summer poker tournament schedule is also heating up with the reopening of casinos and poker rooms after the COVID-19 pandemic-induced closures.

In the meantime, the dates in November align with the concluding phase of the World Series of Poker held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Recently, the WSOP revealed its lineup of 88 live events, spanning from late September to mid-November. The initial round of the $10,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event will kick off on November 4th.

Michigan outperforms New Jersey’s parallel Ultimate Super Satellite

On Sunday night, BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker, and partypoker NJ organized a $1,060 buy-in Ultimate Super Satellite event in New Jersey. These three platforms collectively host players across the state through the partypoker US network.

It’s worth noting that the NJ edition of the event offered a unique feature – a guarantee of three $25K packages to Vegas. However, due to the low turnout of only 59 participants, there was an excess of prizes in that event.

Slow start for BetMGM Online Series, with early overlays

BetMGM Poker Michigan players had more than just the Vegas trips in their minds over the past weekend.

On Sunday, the 10-tournament BetMGM Online Series commenced on BetMGM Poker MI. Scheduled from June 20-28, this series offers a grand total of $275,000 in ensured prize pools.

The Sunday kickoff event required a $215 entry fee, promising a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000. However, with just 177 participants, the total amount collected was only $35,400. Consequently, there was a noticeable excess of $14,600, known as an overlay.

The tournament on Monday was again a $215 event, but this time it offered a guaranteed prize pool of $20,000. It attracted a total of 74 participants and once again had an overlay, amounting to $5,200.

The BetMGM Online Series is taking place for the third time on the site after the launch of BetMGM Poker MI in late March. Just like the previous editions, this series consists of an eight-day schedule with 10 events.

The initial BetMGM Online Series on the platform promised $300,000 in prizes and ended up distributing more than $360,000. In the subsequent event, the total guaranteed amount increased to $315,000, but unfortunately, there were approximately $65,000 in unclaimed prizes.

On Sunday, June 28, the BetMGM Online Series concludes with three thrilling events, one of which is a finale requiring a buy-in of $1,060 with an impressive guarantee of $75,000.

In Michigan, the series encounters tough competition as the PokerStars Summer Stacks Festival on PokerStars MI concludes its final week. Throughout the initial half of this series, which comprised 55 out of 100 events, players on PokerStars MI triumphed, accumulating a total of slightly over $545,000 in winnings.
