Fox Bet Michigan launches; four others left
On launch day, Fox Bet Michigan was one of the five apps that had not yet been approved. Out of these five, three were self-branded apps associated with popular Michigan tribal brands (FireKeepers, Four Winds, and Soaring Eagle). There were concerns that the licensing process for these three apps could face delays.
After receiving approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board, Fox Bet, PokerStars Casino, and PokerStars were launched on Friday. With a shared wallet feature between Fox Bet and PokerStars, the latter is anticipated to establish itself as one of the leading poker sites in Michigan following its launch on Friday.
The launch of Barstool Casino is scheduled for Monday at 11 a.m.
Fox Bet had already launched in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.
As all attention turns towards Michigan and the imminent Super Bowl, now is the ideal moment to make a grand entrance into the state and commence the festivities in a spectacular manner.
Fox Bet and Odawa Casinos in Michigan
In Michigan, Fox Bet has formed a partnership with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. The tribe is responsible for managing two Odawa Casinos, namely the main establishment situated in Petoskey and another located in the vicinity of Mackinaw City.
After the signing of expanded gambling laws by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in December 2019, this deal became one of the earliest ones to be publicly known.
While both casinos offer sports betting, it is only at the flagship location where a genuine sportsbook is available.
Fox Bet a big name for football in Michigan
Fox Bet is deeply connected to football in Michigan, with its network television station broadcasting a majority of Detroit Lions games and numerous Michigan and Michigan State games. Over the course of several months, the brand actively promoted its free-to-play Super 6 contest to football enthusiasts in Michigan.
On Friday, the company announced that Super 6 has achieved the highest number of downloads in the free-to-play sports prediction app category since the return of sports last summer.
