MAC Bowl Games 2021 Michigan Odds

If they continue at this rate, it will become a trend. For only the third time in their history, all three Michigan MAC schools will participate in bowl games. Additionally, for the second time ever, all five Division I football teams in the state will be part of the bowl season.

In 2016, all three MAC schools participated in bowl games, while in the 2019 season, all five schools successfully secured a spot in the bowls.

Out of the MAC trio, Central Michigan holds the record for the highest number of bowl appearances, with a total of 12. They have also secured the most wins, tallying up to three victories. Western Michigan, on the other hand, has participated in 10 bowl games and clinched a single win in 2015. As for Eastern Michigan, they have taken part in five bowl games, earning a sole triumph back in 1987.

By simply appearing together, the MAC schools have already etched their names in history. But can they elevate their achievement by sweeping their opponents and making the deal even sweeter?

Update: Unfortunately, Eastern Michigan was unable to secure a victory in their bowl game opener on Dec. 18 against Liberty. They suffered a defeat in the Lending Tree Bowl, with a final score of 56-20.

On Monday at Ford Field, WMU dominated Nevada, winning the Quick Lane Bowl with a resounding 52-24 victory, proving their ability to perform exceptionally even when playing away from home.

Will CMU be able to help the Michigan MAC schools achieve a winning record in this bowl season?

Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Odds: Central Michigan vs. Washington State

Central hunts for first bowl win since 2012

Due to a COVID-19 outbreak, Boise State’s withdrawal has resulted in the cancellation of the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl for the season.

Central’s opponent was initially in question, leaving doubt as to whether the Chippewas would participate in a bowl game.

Instead, CMU will be facing off against Washington State in the Sun Bowl.

The Chippewas are in for a more substantial payout, along with the opportunity to showcase their skills on global television on New Year’s Eve.

During their most recent bowl game, Central was defeated by San Diego State with a score of 48-11 in the 2019 New Mexico Bowl. The Chippewas’ last victorious bowl experience dates back to the 2012 Little Caesars Bowl, where they secured a 24-21 win against Western Kentucky. With a record of 3-9, they hold the most favorable bowl record among the MAC schools in Michigan.

After suffering a narrow defeat to Northern Illinois in late October, Central bounced back and emerged victorious in their final four matches.

To conclude the season and secure the Michigan MAC trophy, our team sealed the deal with a four-game sweep. This impressive streak involved a 42-30 victory against Western on November 3rd, followed by a triumphant 31-10 win over Eastern.

The offense of Central Michigan accumulates approximately 417.3 yards per game. On the other hand, the defense of the Broncos allows an average of 365.8 yards per game, although they hold a respectable 12th position in points allowed, with an average of 19.

Lew Nichols III, the nation’s top rusher, poses a significant challenge for Washington State. Additionally, they will have to contend with Central’s ground attack, which averages approximately 180.7 yards per game.

Washington State favored by a touchdown

The favorite in the upcoming game according to Michigan sportsbooks is Washington State, who are favored by 7 points.
