Playing the Mega Millions in Michigan

In order to participate in the Mega Millions lottery, you have the option to buy a ticket for $2 via the Michigan Lottery. You can conveniently make the purchase through the Michigan Lottery app, their website, or visit any of the 10,500 lottery retailers across the state. However, if you choose to buy tickets online, please note that a minimum purchase requirement of three tickets applies.

The deadline for ticket purchase is 10:45 p.m. ET on the drawing night, and the drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET.

For an additional $1, lotto players have the option to include a “Megaplier” on their ticket. This will increase non-jackpot prizes by a maximum of five times.

Mega Millions tickets are available for purchase in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Friday’s jackpot is largest of 2022

In April, a fortunate player from Tennessee bagged a whopping $20 million, making them the latest victor of the Mega Millions jackpot.

In January 2021, a lottery club from Oakland County in Michigan struck gold by winning the massive $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot.

The recent jackpot victory in Michigan marks the largest ever won in the state and the third largest in the history of US lotteries.

Michigan Lottery coming off record year

The entirety of the proceeds generated by the Michigan Lottery is allocated to the Michigan School Aid Fund. For Fiscal Year 2021, a remarkable total of $1.419 billion was contributed, marking the highest amount ever achieved. This notable accomplishment signifies the seventh consecutive year in which the Michigan Lottery has set a record-breaking contribution for the School Aid Fund.

Since 1972, the Michigan Lottery has generously donated over $26 billion to support public schools in Michigan.

In honor of its 50-year milestone, the lottery has recently unveiled its most lucrative instant game to date, titled $300,000,000 Diamond Riches.

In the Michigan instant game, the prizes for the $50 instant game range from $50 to an unprecedented $6 million, making it the highest prize ever offered.
