The BetMGM Poker MI is hosting its sixth edition of the BetMGM Online Series. Following the inclusion of an additional 11th event in August, the September series returns to the usual format of ten tournaments spread across eight days.
Similar to previous editions, the BetMGM Online Series will commence and conclude on Sundays with a variety of events. Additionally, every weekday and Saturday evening will showcase individual tournaments.
This time, the guarantees have been reduced from the previously offered $330,000 in total guarantees for the August series. In the previous month, the BetMGM Online Series granted a grand total of slightly over $432,000, which stands as the highest amount awarded in any series at BetMGM Poker MI.
BetMGM Poker MI is starting off the series by offering the highly anticipated “Mini” no-limit hold’em event, which has a low entry fee of just $20. This event will take place at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19 and guarantees a prize pool of $10,000. In previous iterations of the series, the $20 event has been very popular, attracting over 2,000 participants and sometimes resulting in a prize pool of over $40,000. As an example, the August event had 2,249 entries and a prize pool of $41,606.50, making it a thrilling conclusion to the series.
By Friday morning, over 1,600 players have already registered for the $20 event, resulting in a prize pool of nearly $30,000, with two-and-a-half days remaining before the tournament begins.
The series concludes with the big buy-in $1,060 NLHE tournament once more. In August, this event had a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000 and ended up with a surplus of $15,000. However, for the September edition, the guarantee for this event has been reduced by half to $50,000.
In addition, there is another modification where a second progressive knockout bounty tournament is incorporated into the schedule. Once again, the majority of the events are No Limit Hold’em, with the exception of a single Pot-Limit Omaha tournament.

Final week of MICOOP at PokerStars MI will provide stiff competition to BetMGM series
BetMGM Poker MI faced the PokerStars MI Champions Preseason tournament series in August. Now, the competition has intensified with the ongoing MICOOP series at PokerStars MI. It’s possible that the rival series influenced BetMGM Poker MI to reduce their guarantees for this event.
