The arrival of a fresh month signifies the commencement of yet another exciting chapter in the BetMGM Online Series, exclusively hosted by BetMGM Poker Michigan.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming monthly tournament series, taking place from August 15th to 22nd. This highly anticipated fifth edition of the series will be even more thrilling as it introduces an additional event, resulting in a total of 11 tournaments over an action-packed eight days. The guaranteed prize pool for these tournaments sums up to an impressive $330,000.
BetMGM poker series guarantees increased following positive July showing
After a triumphant July series that distributed a total of $353,000 among 10 events, the BetMGM Online Series returns for its fifth edition.
The total amount far surpassed last month’s guaranteed sum of $285,000, which is likely the reason for the higher guarantees set for this series.
The increases primarily occur in the last two scheduled events.
Over the past few months, the $20 buy-in “Mini” event has gained significant popularity. Previously, this event had a guaranteed prize of $5,000. However, in the previous month, the number of participants reached close to 2,000, resulting in a prize pool of nearly $36,000. In June, the event became even bigger, attracting 2,169 entries and generating a prize pool that exceeded $39,000.
Based on the schedule, the upcoming event with a $20 entry fee will have a guaranteed prize pool of $15,000. However, it is worth noting that the current information displayed in the client indicates a $5,000 guarantee for the event.
In addition, a significant boost has been applied to the guarantee for the concluding event of the series, which requires a $1,060 buy-in. Previously set at $75,000, the guarantee has now been raised to $100,000 for this month. During July, this particular event gained ample attention, drawing in 101 participants and ultimately generating a substantial prize pool of $101,000.
Similar to previous years, the majority of the tournaments will be played in the popular no-limit hold’em format, offering a range of buy-ins to cater to different budgets. Additionally, there will be one pot-limit Omaha tournament, a fast-paced turbo event, and an exciting progressive knockout bounty tournament.

BetMGM Poker MI continues heads-up battle with PokerStars, WSOP coming
Ever since the launch of BetMGM Poker MI in late March, the BetMGM Online Series has consistently stood out as a prominent feature on the tournament schedule.
In terms of prize pools, the first running of the series in April stands out as the largest so far. With a total of 10 tournaments, this series awarded slightly more than $360,000.
In June, the site organized a unique and exclusive Ultimate Super Satellite event with a buy-in of $1,060. This event offered an incredible opportunity to win two $25,000 packages, granting access to Las Vegas events in the upcoming summer and the prestigious World Series of Poker in the fall. A total of 89 players participated, resulting in the triumphant achievement of three players receiving the coveted $25K packages. Additionally, the fourth-place finisher was awarded $14,000 in prize money.
PokerStars remains firmly established as the leading online poker platform in Michigan, showcasing its dominance. After a highly successful Michigan Spring Championship of Online Poker, where players amassed winnings exceeding $2.35 million, PokerStars MI’s Summer Stacks series in June distributed an additional $1.1 million in prizes.
Both PokerStars MI and BetMGM Poker MI are expecting the entrance of a third player at the online poker table in Michigan. WSOP.com, which successfully launched in Pennsylvania in July, is highly anticipated to join the Michigan online poker market in the near future.
