According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, online casinos in Michigan experienced another exceptionally successful month in September. State internet gaming operators disclosed a staggering $102.4 million in online casino revenue for that period.
Since its launch on Jan. 22, the sector has been consistently impressive. From March to August, each month generated revenue ranging from $89.2 million to $97.2 million. In comparison to the previous month, September witnessed a notable 5.3% surge in total revenue. In August, the state’s 14 internet gaming operators generated an unprecedented $97.2 million in earnings, encompassing online poker operators in Michigan as well.
In total, the collaboration between casino and poker operators resulted in a payment of $18.9 million in state taxes, $5.2 million to the city of Detroit, and $2.1 million to state tribal governments. Since its inception, Michigan internet gaming has generated a substantial $139.0 million in state tax revenue, with $38.5 million allocated to Detroit and $15.2 million directed to tribal operators.
In addition, September marked the second complete month following the introduction of live dealer online casino games on July 22, contributing to the remarkable success of Michigan online casinos in August.
