Half-off Sunday tournaments for MI, NJ, PA
Poker enthusiasts from Michigan can expect a possibly profitable weekend ahead at PokerStars MI.
On Wednesday afternoon, PokerStars had a total of 11 tournaments scheduled, all of which were labeled as “Half Price”.
The Half Price Sunday Special at 6 p.m. offered a generous prize pool of $40,000. Participants were required to pay a $50 buy-in fee and had the option of up to three re-entries. Additionally, the Half Price Sunday Supersonic at 10 p.m. featured a prize pool of $5,000 with a buy-in fee of $25.
In New Jersey and Pennsylvania, there are also half-off incentives available.
On Sunday, residents in Michigan have the opportunity to win over $60,000 in prize guarantees.
There are over $80,000 up for grabs in Pennsylvania, while Jersey offers a prize pool of over $40,000.
MICOOP exceeded guarantees last month, giving away nearly $1.79 million
The Michigan online poker market, which was established on January 29 of this year, experienced one of its most significant months to date last month.
The success of the second MICOOP can largely be attributed to surpassing the planned $1.5 million in guarantees.
The 18-day, 68-event series concluded with a lucrative sum of almost $1.79 million earned by MI players. Overall, a total of 18,836 entries were recorded.
Despite being impressive, the event fell short of the over $2.2 million awarded at the initial MICOOP series, which took place shortly after its launch in February and March.
During that period, Pennsylvania emerged as the leader in the three-state PokerStars market. The PACOOP series hosted in the Keystone State distributed prizes worth approximately $2.38 million, enticing more than 25,500 participants.
Over the course of 60 events, the NJCOOP saw a staggering 10,500 entries, ultimately awarding over $1.1 million in prizes.
