According to the Associated Press, the White Lake Township police have stated that the body of Susie Zhao, aged 33, was discovered on July 13 at the Pontiac Lake Recreational Area. Her body had been burned.

Detective Lieutenant Chris Hild from the White Lake Township Police Department highlighted the need to establish if this was a cover-up or a potential act of retaliation due to the victim’s profession. Nevertheless, the motive behind her tragic death remained uncertain.
