Six players make multiple WSOP MI online bracelet series final tables
It is truly remarkable that a total of six players managed to reach the final table on two separate occasions during the summer. Among these exceptional players, Brett Blackwood and Ryan Hiller emerged victorious and claimed bracelets for their outstanding performances.
- Brett Blackwood achieved a remarkable feat by securing the 1st position in Event #1, earning an impressive prize of $35,559. Additionally, he showcased his talent by finishing in 9th place in Event #5, earning a respectable prize of $1,788.

Michigan outpaces Pennsylvania’s mirrored series
The schedule for the 2022 WSOP MI Online Bracelet Series was exactly the same as the one organized for Pennsylvania’s ring-fenced market.
Throughout the series, players from The Mitten consistently outperformed their counterparts from the Keystone State in terms of larger fields and prize pools, despite the recent launch of WSOP.com in late March.
Only two events did not reach prize pools of six figures, specifically Event #3: $500 PLO 6-Max and Event #7: $777 Lucky 7’s Second Chance. In contrast, PA achieved prize pools exceeding six figures only three times.
It is worth noting that both states attracted the highest number of participants in Event #2 and recorded their biggest prize pools in Event #1.
The latter portion of every online series coincided with the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, which probably led to reduced participation in both states’ series.

Will the first MI-only bracelet series also be the last?
While we are summarizing a triumphant Michigan online series, the state rejoiced two months prior over a potentially more significant accomplishment: the legalization of interstate poker.
In May, the Michigan Gaming Control Board entered into an agreement to legalize online poker across state borders, allowing residents of Michigan to participate in poker games with players from Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware. All three of Michigan’s poker sites, PokerStars, BetMGM, and WSOP, are operational in at least one of those states. This collaboration opens up the possibility of hosting even bigger tournament series in the future.
The state of Michigan has been granted admission to the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) shared by three states. As a result, residents of Michigan will have the opportunity to compete with players from other states in the future. However, the specific timeline for this development remains uncertain.
If Michigan’s player pools combine with those from New Jersey and Nevada prior to next summer, the 2022 WSOP MI series will become unique as the only one of its kind. In contrast, Michigan would become integrated into the Main WSOP Online Series, offering a greater number of events and the opportunity to win millions of dollars.
