On Friday, PokerStars made an announcement regarding their newly formed partnership with the Detroit Red Wings.

PokerStars has entered into a multi-year agreement to become the official sponsor of the Red Wings, marking their inaugural partnership with a professional sports team in the United States.

The latest trend in Detroit pro sports franchises is their partnership with online sportsbook, casino, and poker platforms.

What’s included in the partnership

By joining forces, PokerStars and the Detroit Red Wings aim to provide a blend of top-notch poker experiences, thus delivering a delightful source of entertainment for both fans and online poker players in Michigan.

Users will be rewarded with signed memorabilia, merchandise, tickets, and exciting fan opportunities and experiences.

Severin Rasset, PokerStars US Managing Director, expressed his immense pride and excitement in establishing a lasting partnership with the legendary NHL team, the Red Wings. In a press release, he emphasized the anticipation of delivering extraordinary experiences for the PokerStars community, enhancing the offerings for players in Michigan and nationwide.

Home game attendees can anticipate PokerStars to be prominently displayed throughout Little Caesars Arena during Red Wings games.

PokerStars’ marketing materials will now feature the iconic Winged Wheel of the Red Wings.

Chris McGowan, President & CEO of Ilitch Sports & Entertainment, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that it is something that our fans, particularly poker players, will truly relish. He also mentioned how delightful it is to witness the presence of PokerStars’ branding at the ice-level of Little Caesars Arena, expressing gratitude for their support.

PokerStars joins Detroit pro sports market

PokerStars has recently partnered with the professional sports teams in Detroit, further expanding its presence in the online gambling industry.

PointsBet Sportsbook sponsors the PointsBet Sports Bar at Little Caesars Arena.

The PointsBet Sports Bar is a spacious establishment spanning 7,200 square feet, offering complete bar and dining services. It caters to both Pistons and Red Wings games, while also serving as a digital sportsbook.

The BetRivers Backcourt Club is exclusively featured behind the visiting baseline during Pistons games.

Another digital sportsbook and restaurant called WynnBet Sports Bar can be found at Ford Field, which is the home of the Detroit Lions.

Both the Lions and the Detroit Tigers have formed marketing alliances with BetMGM, while the Lions have additionally partnered with Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort and the Tigers with PointsBet.

Specialized games associated with the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings can be found at BetMGM Online Casino MI. Additionally, at DraftKings Online Casino MI, one can enjoy Detroit Pistons Blackjack.

PokerStars MI holding steady

Due to Michigan being one of the six states where online poker is legalized, PokerStars seamlessly aligns with a professional sports team from Detroit.

The online casino operation of Stars Casino MI is also associated with the poker app. Stars Casino MI holds a market share of slightly more than 1.9% in terms of all-time online casino revenue in Michigan.

Stars Casino has accumulated a total online casino revenue of $44.2 million as of October 2021, placing it in the 10th position among Michigan’s 15 operators since the launch of iGaming in January 2021.
