Let It Ride is a well-liked poker-based casino table game that differs from many other games in its gameplay. The objective is to form the strongest poker hand using five cards. At the beginning of the game, you place three bets, and if your hand doesn’t immediately win, you have the option to remove up to two of these bets. You can decide whether to remove bets or continue playing by letting it ride and revealing more cards.
In addition to the main game, players have the option of placing a side bet, where they can wager on the strength of their original three cards. Let It Ride is available at live casinos throughout Michigan and can also be found at newly launched online casinos in Michigan.

How Let It Ride Works
When Let It Ride begins, players are required to place three bets of equal value on the table. The range of minimum and maximum bet amounts may differ. In live settings, the minimum bets can range from $5 at larger Detroit resorts to $2 at smaller tribal casinos. However, when playing online, the stakes tend to be lower.
After receiving three cards, every player has the choice to either keep all three bets in play, known as Let It Ride, or retrieve their first bet and add it back to their bankroll. For the most optimal decision-making process, refer to the strategy section below.
Afterwards, the dealer will distribute the initial community card, which will combine with your three starting cards (along with the three starting cards of all other players). You will then have the option to either Let it Ride or retract your second bet. Subsequently, the dealer will distribute the final community card. At this stage, the round concludes. Players will receive payouts based on the following poker hands:
- You will receive a 1:1 payout for a pair of tens or higher.
- Two Pairs – 2:1
- The ratio for Three of a Kind is 3 to 1.
- Straight – 5:1
- Flush – 8:1
- Full House – 11:1
- The payout for Four of a Kind is 50 times your bet amount.
- Straight Flush – 200:1
- Royal Flush – 1000:1
For instance, suppose you decided to play Let it Ride with three initial bets of $5 each. If you manage to hit a flush, your payout would be $45 for each of those three bets (8 x $5), plus you would also get your stake back. However, if you decided to remove one of the bets during the game, you would only receive the $45 payment twice.
Let It Ride Strategy
There are two components to the Let It Ride strategy: determining whether to withdraw your bets upon receiving your own cards, and deciding after the first community card is revealed.
If you have three cards, it is advisable to continue playing only if you possess a winning hand or a promising drawing hand. It is recommended to keep your hand if you have a pair of tens or better, three cards that can lead to a royal flush, three consecutive suited cards starting from 3-4-5 or higher, three cards that can potentially form a straight flush across four numbers (with at least one card valued at 10 or higher), or three cards that can potentially form a straight flush across five numbers (with at least two cards valued at 10 or higher).
If you possess four cards, the advisable course of action is to only continue playing Let it Ride if you already possess a winning hand, if you have four cards of the same suit, or if you have any four cards that can form an outside straight (provided that at least one card is 10 or higher).
Let It Ride: 3 Card Bonus Side Bet
At the beginning of each hand, you are given the opportunity to make a side bet that is determined by the value of your first three cards. The payout for this side bet is outlined in the following pay table:
- Pair – 1:1
- Flush – 3:1
- Straight – 6:1
- A set of three cards with the same value pays out at a ratio of 30 to 1.
- Straight Flush – 40:1
- Mini Royal – 200:1
In this scenario, a Mini Royal is when you are dealt the Ace, King, and Queen of the same suit. To place this side bet, you must first make the standard initial 3 bets.
Playing Let It Ride in Michigan: Live and Online
Let It Ride, a well-liked table game, is commonly offered at larger casinos in Detroit as well as some of the larger tribal casinos in Northern Michigan. However, the smaller tribal casinos, which have only a few tables, typically offer only the most popular games such as blackjack and baccarat.
Let It Ride is now available online as well. Michigan’s real money online casinos offer a variety of table games, including software-based and live dealer options. SG Digital has developed a highly popular version of Let It Ride. When playing table games online, make sure to make the most of the casino’s welcome bonuses. These include no deposit bonus offers and larger bonus deals that match your initial deposit.
Wrapping Up: Let It Ride in Michigan
Compared to blackjack and other table games, Let It Ride has a significant edge. While most table games offer the opportunity to win double your bet on a hand (or more if you split or ‘double down’), Let It Ride presents a chance to win a whopping 1000 times your initial wager.
You’ll be pleased to know that it gets even better: you have the option to bet 3 units, but you’ll only be risking 1 unit if your hand doesn’t turn out as anticipated. Additionally, there’s a side bet based on your own 3 cards, which further enhances the value for money in this casino poker variant.
In Michigan, you can discover Let It Ride poker available online. This provides an opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with the game, take advantage of casino bonuses, and potentially score a substantial victory.
