Ankush Mandavia, the winner of both WSOP bracelet and circuit ring, holds the sixth position in Michigan’s historical WSOP earnings with a remarkable sum of $1,789,860.
Mandavia has already achieved an impressive feat by securing five scores during the 2022 WSOP. Among these accomplishments, he notably placed 20th in both the $5,300 Online High Roller Freezeout and Event #11: $600 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack. However, his most significant achievement in the WSOP occurred in 2016. Dean Hamrick ($1.5 million lifetime WSOP earnings)
With $1.45 million in WSOP tournament earnings and a total lifetime earnings of $1.7 million, Dean Hamrick proudly holds the prestigious title of the seventh-highest earner in WSOP history in Michigan.
In 2010, Hamrick emerged as the victor in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event, outshining a crowd of 2,521 participants and collecting over $600,000 in winnings. Fast forward to the following year, where he secured the fifth spot in yet another $1,500 NLH event, taking home a substantial amount of $132,380.
Regarding the Main Event, Hamrick has achieved three scores in 2007, 2008, and 2010. In 2008, he narrowly missed making it to the final table, finishing in tenth place out of 6,844 participants and earning $591,869.
Since 2016, Hamrick has not been spotted participating in WSOP events.
Brek Schutten ($1.4 million lifetime WSOP earnings)
With a staggering $1.1 million solely from his 2022 WSOP cashes, Brek Schutten stands out as the most rapidly advancing player on this list. His WSOP scores, amounting to $1.4 million, have been accumulated in less than six years, dating back to October 2016.

Tom McEvoy ($1.4 million lifetime WSOP earnings)
Tom McEvoy, hailing from Grand Rapids, is renowned as a distinguished poker innovator. His remarkable achievements include his induction into the esteemed Poker Hall of Fame in 2013. Throughout his prolific career, he has triumphantly secured four coveted bracelets and lucratively cashed in an impressive 56 WSOP events, spanning all the way back to 1982. The 1983 WSOP Main Event was won by McEvoy, with the legendary Doyle Brunson securing the third-place position in the tournament.
Despite not winning a bracelet since 1992, McEvoy remains an active participant in poker tournaments. In the 2021 WSOP, he has already achieved two cashes. Although his last cash in the Main Event occurred in 2018, where he placed 430th out of 7,874 entries.
Jeff Gross ($1.3 million lifetime WSOP earnings)
Jeff Gross, a poker streamer, completes Michigan’s top 10 WSOP earners list by accumulating $1,321,480 from a total of 58 Series and circuit cashes. The majority of his earnings, except for three, are derived from the WSOP. Gross has reached the final table seven times in this prestigious event but has not yet claimed his first career bracelet.
Since 2007, Gross has accumulated a total of $3.5 million in lifetime earnings, which is the fourth-highest amount in Michigan history. In terms of his performance in the WSOP Main Event, he has made it to the money three times. His best performance on American soil was in 2012 when he secured 223rd place. Additionally, he achieved a 28th place finish in the 2015 WSOP Europe Main Event.
