According to Playinmichigan, the number of Michigan sportsbooks will increase to double figures as two more are set to open in northern Michigan this Friday.

At 3 p.m., a pair of William Hill Michigan sportsbooks will be opened near Traverse City by Turtle Creek Casino and Leelanau Sands Casino.

The books, named Onyx Sports Book by William Hill, will be officially introduced during a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday. The Grand Traverse Bay Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, in collaboration with William Hill, have joined forces as casino operators. Furthermore, William Hill will be responsible for running both online sports betting and online casino platforms throughout the entire state as part of this partnership.

Online gambling is expected to be launched by November, once the rulemaking process has been successfully concluded.

After the implementation of expanded gambling laws in December, the Grand Traverse sportsbooks will become the 10th and 11th establishments of their kind in Michigan.

There are a total of 26 casinos in Michigan, and it is anticipated that every single one of them will eventually offer retail sports betting services.

On March 11, the sports betting market in Michigan was officially introduced as two commercial casinos in Detroit unveiled their sportsbooks.

More sports betting options in northern Michigan

Sports betting is now available in eight Michigan tribal casinos, as the second tribe has introduced sportsbooks across various locations.

Turtle Creek is situated in Williamsburg, which is located approximately 10 miles east of Traverse City. On the other hand, Leelanau Sands is positioned in Peshawbestown, which is about halfway up the Leelanau Peninsula and north of the Cherry Capital.

With over 20 televisions, a bar, and an outdoor patio, Turtle Creek sportsbook offers ample entertainment options.

In the summer, the northern Michigan area saw the opening of a sportsbook at Little River Casino Resort in Manistee. Just recently, the Upper Peninsula welcomed the first sportsbook at Island Resort & Casino.

Odawa Casino has been actively promoting its forthcoming sportsbook on social media, hinting at yet another exciting addition on the horizon. With Odawa establishments present in both Petoskey and Mackinaw City, the anticipation for this new development grows.

William Hill moved quickly to get in Michigan

William Hill wasted no time after the implementation of the expanded gambling laws, promptly declaring their tribal partnership in February.

Having been founded in 1934, the UK-based company ventured into the American market in 2012 with the aim of establishing a prominent presence similar to its success in the UK. William Hills has since strived to create a significant reputation on both sides of the Atlantic.

In Illinois, the company recently unveiled its sports betting app, while just a week prior, it made its debut in Colorado.

In addition to its expansion in New Jersey, the brand is set to unveil another sports betting app in partnership with Caesars. The Caesars merger with Eldorado proved to be highly advantageous for William Hill, as the company had already collaborated with Eldorado for sports betting before the deal was finalized. With the consolidation of the two companies, William Hill has become the primary sportsbook provider for one of the largest casino companies in the United States.

While it currently trails behind DraftKings and FanDuel, this online sports betting brand aspires to make a significant impact on the market share of the Great Lakes State in the future.

Bad Boy Rick Mahorn in town for grand opening

Former Detroit Pistons world champion Rick Mahorn will grace the grand opening celebration at Turtle Creek this Wednesday at noon.

At the celebration, there will be exclusive offers on draft beer and an opportunity to win astonishing prizes worth $1,500. These prizes include autographed sports equipment from renowned athletes such as Dennis Rodman from the Pistons, Nicklas Lidstrom from the Detroit Red Wings, Jack Morris from the Detroit Tigers, Le’Veon Bell, former Michigan State running back, and many more Michigan athletes.
