The Main Event of the 2022 World Series of Poker is currently underway.
The event, commencing on Sunday, July 3 from Las Vegas, began with over 8,000 participants.
Although Michigan had a strong presence in this year’s competition, unfortunately, the state will not have the privilege of celebrating a fourth resident as the winner.
Who is still playing from Michigan?
Unfortunately, no one.
Danny Hannawa from Farmington Hills was the last competitor representing Michigan, but unfortunately, his journey came to a close on Tuesday.
As of Wednesday, the Main Event of WSOP has reached a total of 8,663 entries, with only 35 players remaining. At the start of the event, each player was provided with 60,000 chips.
WSOP has disclosed a grand prize of $10 million for the victor. Additionally, 1,300 players will secure a minimum cash prize of $15,000, ensuring that they all leave with something from the substantial prize pool exceeding $80 million. Furthermore, all contenders in the top 80 are guaranteed a minimum reward of $100,000.
Heading into Wednesday’s action, Jeffrey Farnes from Dallas, Oregon holds the leading chip count of 37,825,000.
