Michigan outpaces Pennsylvania’s mirrored series
The WSOP MI Online Bracelet Series in 2022 followed the same schedule as the one organized in Pennsylvania exclusively for its ring-fenced market.
Throughout the entire series, players from The Mitten consistently outperformed their counterparts from Keystone State in terms of larger fields and prize pools, despite the launch of WSOP.com at the end of March.
Only two events failed to reach prize pools of at least $100,000 (Event #3: $500 PLO 6-Max and Event #7: $777 Lucky 7’s Second Chance). On the other hand, PA managed to exceed the six-figure mark only three times.
It is worth noting that both states attracted the highest number of participants in Event #2 and witnessed their largest prize pools in Event #1.
Both states’ series likely experienced smaller field sizes as the second half of each online series coincided with the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas.

Will the first MI-only bracelet series also be the last?
While we are summarizing the achievements of a thriving online series in Michigan, the state recently rejoiced in a potentially grander triumph: the introduction of interstate poker, which took place two months ago.
In May, the Michigan Gaming Control Board entered into an agreement to legalize interstate online poker, allowing residents of Michigan to participate in poker games with players from Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware. All three of Michigan’s poker sites, PokerStars, BetMGM, and WSOP, are operational in at least one of these states. This development paves the way for the possibility of hosting even bigger tournament series in the future.
Michigan has successfully joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) alongside three other states, allowing its residents to participate in cross-state gaming competitions in the future. However, the exact timeline for this exciting opportunity is still unknown.
If Michigan’s player pools join forces with those of New Jersey and Nevada prior to next summer, the 2022 WSOP MI series will stand alone as a unique event. Instead, Michigan would become part of the Main WSOP Online Series, featuring a greater number of events and the opportunity to win millions of dollars.
